Hands Across the Street in Columbia, PA
- Summer Lunch Program & Family Meal Night
Donegal Presbyterian participates in this program in Columbia PA., providing meal preparation of over five hundred meals each week throughout the summer. This work helps provide a solid meal for children when school lunches are not available. The outreach team also works to provide periodic family meal nights through this program. (Child Protective clearances required).
- Back to School Backpack Program
This program aids in providing backpacks and school supplies for children. (Child Protection clearances required).
- Socks and Underwear Drive
A yearly collection of the most requested items by homeless shelters in the area.
- Coat & Sweater Drive
An early fall drive for new or gently used coats, sweaters and sweatshirts or sweatpants.
An established local food bank program. Our Outreach Team provides people to assist with distributing food at an established interval.
New opportunities in the Power Pack program are being explored. The Outreach Team is also looking at the viability of innovative programs for 2024 that will help provide an ongoing source of food for those in need.
Personal hygiene products drive to aid refugees being placed in permanent housing in the Lancaster area.
Individual and group opportunities to aid in property repairs to substandard housing needs in the surrounding area.
Elizabethtown Community Housing & Outreach Services (ECHOS)
Donegal Outreach will be working with ECHOS to help provide meals and other assistance with their overnight shelter for the winter months in Elizabethtown. Furniture donation collections are also being planned to assist in setting up housing. (Child Protective clearances required for some projects).
