In-Person Worship
Donegal offers two ways to worship in person. If you prefer a traditional worship experience, join us for our 9:00 a.m. service inside the historic sanctuary. This service features music from our choir and music played on our custom organ.
Looking for a more relaxed experience? Then our 11:15 a.m. service in Fellowship Hall is what you’re looking for! Sleep in, dress casual, and grab a coffee as you enjoy our new Celtic Sabbath worship experience, a more contemplative service that includes the Lord’s Supper almost every week.
Virtual Worship
Can’t make it to Donegal to worship in-person? Join us virtually and worship from home with our weekly broadcast of the 11:15 a.m. service livestreamed from Fellowship Hall. Follow along by downloading this week’s worship bulletin and don’t forget to subscribe to the Official Donegal Presbyterian Church YouTube channel to set notifications for future livestreams or watch on-demand services from weeks prior.
Communion
The Lord’s Supper is one of two sacraments of the Presbyterian Church that are presided over by a Minister of the Word and Sacrament. It is a time for one to be nourished spiritually by God’s grace in the loving sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit. It is where we are brought into communion with our Lord and Savior, as well as with the saints of all time.
The Celebration of the Lord’s Supper is served at the Traditional 9:00 a.m. Service at least once a month and on major days in the life of the church, including Maundy Thursday, Pentecost, Heritage Sunday, Rally Day/Church Picnic, World Communion, and Reign of Christ Sundays.
The Lord’s Supper is also a weekly part of the Relaxed 11:15 a.m. worship experience when an Ordained Minister of the Word and Sacrament is present.
Frequently asked questions
When are your services?
We offer 2 weekly services. Our 9:00 a.m. service is more traditional in nature, and is held in the sanctuary. Our adult choir sings most Sundays, and the music selections tend to be traditional (hymns). Our 11:15 a.m. service is held in Fellowship hall. Both services of worship last for approximately one hour.
How should I dress?
For the 9:00 a.m. service, you will see men in suits and ties, and others in sweaters or button down shirts. Women will typically wear skirts, dresses or slacks. For the 11:15 a.m. service, come as you are! Everyone is encouraged to dress casually, but neatly. Most in attendance will be wearing jeans or khakis and casual shirts/sweaters.
Where should I sit?
Feel free to sit anywhere you like. Good Presbyterians like to sit in the back rows far away from the Pastor but seating is competitive!
Are children permitted to attend worship services?
Absolutely! The Pastor is always prepared for a time for children at both worship services.
Do you have other options for children?
Donegal offers Nursery Care for children up to four years old.
Is Communion served?
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated approximately 13 times a year at the 9:00 a.m. service. It is celebrated every Sunday at the 11:15 a.m. service.
What are your requirements to receive communion?
If you trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are welcome to receive Communion.
Can I attend more than one worship service without becoming a member?
Yes! We just want you to feel at home and be involved in the life of the church. If you decide you want to join the church, great! If you’d rather not join, that’s ok too.
Interested in becoming a member of Donegal Presbyterian Church?
When one expresses an interest in joining, they would meet with the Pastor to talk about what membership means in the Presbyterian Church. Those wishing to join the church will then meet with the Session, and will then be received at one of our two worship services.
What is Donegal Presbyterian Church really like? Will I fit in?
One of the best things about our congregation is that we are a family and you will be welcomed by everyone you meet!
