Women's Ministry, Pastor, Volunteering,Mission Tour, Missions, &, of course, News! (Just wondering-- does ANYBODY read this page? Tell us on Facebook!)

Our annual Lenten Series will begin on Sunday, February 18th, and continue on Sunday evenings through March 25th.  As is tradition, we will hold a potluck dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 p.m.  Then our program will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
This year we will be hosting a series of religious clergy to educate us on their specific lines of faith.  Each week we will hear a talk about a different faith or church.  We will hear clergy from Islam, the Antiochian Catholic Church, Judaism, the Coptic Orthodox Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Greek Orthodox Church.
Please consider coming to this great opportunity to learn about other faiths and churches.  You may either bring a potluck meal to share or just come to hear our speaker for the evening.  We would love to see you there, and invite a friend!

WE DID IT.  The FAITH Homes bedroom we volunteered to repaint and refurbish now stands totally painted--even all the fiddly corners in the closet.  The new curtains enliven the room, and tomorrow I'll return clean linens and make beds.
Thank you, folks.  Thanks to Tom Labagh for muscles and vehicle for moving furniture.  Thanks to Dan Bard for muscles and strategic thinking.  And thanks to Mitch Forry for his trademark excellence and care in repainting the ceiling, covering splotches of color from other coats, and making the result shine with fresh promise.-- Judy Kay Bard

We had so much fun and enjoyed the benefits of working together on the last Christmas Market that we’re looking forward to next year’s version.  The success and results for our church and our missions programs were outstanding!  More information to come, but please add DECEMBER 1st to your calendar.

GO FISH! (1-5-18)
The Annual Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Contract Bridge will meet the third Thursday in January and February as usual.  But not at the church.  We will meet offsite.  If anyone who knows how to play bridge and would like to join our group, please contact Joanne Myers at 717-653-6745.

Calling all men and women who have or seek experience in researching and writing grants.  There is a significant amount of local and federal grant money potentially available for our church.  Grants may be obtained for the maintenance and repair of our historical church building, grounds and missions.  The researching of and applying for grants are incredibly important and time consuming tasks.  Therefore, Dawn Bourassa (Stewardship Committee) seeks your assistance. Please contact Dawn at 717-471-2613 or for additional information.

As part of our recent Mission Study, we learned that highly dynamic and growth oriented churches have members that wear name tags.  This helps everyone learn each other’s names and helps new church guests to more easily learn to know who is who and feel more at home.  If you would like to have a re-useable magnetic name tag made, please see Carla Douple (she will be wearing her name tag) or sign-up on the sheet in the Narthex or Fellowship call.  Cost is $5.00.  Make checks payable to Carla Douple.  (posted 10-16-17)
