A CAMP DONEGAL CHRISTMAS
For a Christmas experience you are not likely to forget, pack up the family and bring them to enjoy Christmas in the Woods, the live nativity that has been taking place at Camp Donegal for the past 15 years. When we say live nativity, we are talking about a reenactment of the story of Christ's birth by characters and live animals enhanced by caroling and candlelight. All of this takes place in a secluded setting on the camp property, surrounded by trees and moonlight and yet close to parking. In addition to experiencing the wonder of the Christmas story, participants are invited inside to enjoy refreshments, fellowship, live music and festive decorations while being warmed by the blazing fire at the hearth of the dining hall fireplace. This year will include the addition of several local crafters selling their unique crafts.
This event takes place between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, with nativities at 5:15, 6:00, 6:45 and 7:30. Live music by area musicians and choirs will take place in the dining hall at 5:35, 6:20, 7:05 and 7:50. While there is no charge for this event, there are opportunities to purchase seasonal crafts and baked goods. Donations are also always welcomed to support the ministry of Camp Donegal.

The water pounds down on your head feeling more like ice water than creek water. All around you are laughing, screaming friends enjoying the waterfall, but just as startled by the coldness of the water. As you look downstream you are amazed by how green everything is! There isn’t a house or a road or a bike or an electric wire in sight! On the hike down you hadn’t really noticed because all you could think about was the picnic lunch at Lock 12 Park. That sub tasted really good! But now that you’re hiking back up and wading in the stream with your friends and standing under a waterfall...This is great! And you still get to go swimming in the pool later!
