WITNESSED   ( Seen and Heard )

WITNESSED ( Seen and Heard ) We all have witnessed a most glorious springtime. Never in the memory of many persons has there been such a wonderful display of flowers and trees in full bloom along with the unusually early greening of all the trees. Along with our Resurrection celebration, we were also observing a revival of nature with ideal weather, making this April truly one to remember. That February shoveling was perhaps just a dream! Fishing Derby Day, April 10, was one of those beautiful days and we have heard that our spring was surrounded to capacity. Largest fish caught was 19 inches and possibly was one that was stocked. We are certain those young fishermen had an exciting experience, thanks to Kurt and all his helpers. It was reported to have been a very profitable day. We also need to appreciate all of the Donegal members who work tirelessly on the many committees and councils so necessary to the work of the church. At our Palm Sunday breakfast, the chairpersons presented very well their functions and the need for more voluntary help. One of those committees was at that occasion functioning superbly, and on Easter also – it was the Hospitality Committee. They served a delicious hot breakfast both Sunday mornings. It was very well done and greatly appreciated by the large numbers attending our Palm Sunday and Easter celebration services. Joanne Myers is chairperson and is very ably assisted by Judy Weidman, Jodi Musser, Matt McGough, Leo Balzereit, and Althea Johnson. Thanks to them and thanks to all who contributed in every way. Our condolences to the Weidman, Musser and Witman families on the death of Jeff Witman’s father, Paul Witman, a very likeable and highly-esteemed man.
