It’s Okay to Be Human…

We’re brought up to be strong, self-sufficient, independent people.  We tend to think that if we ask for help, it is a sign of weakness.  So we try to keep our struggles hidden, stuffed deep inside.  However, that’s not God’s plan.  Galatians 6:2 says “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”  God wants us to care for others and allow others to care for us in our time of need.  To learn more about Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone you know, talk with Stephen Leader Linda Bayer.

Summertime Stress Slowing You Down?

We like to think of summer as being a relaxing, enjoyable time. But hurts, struggles, crises, and problems don't take a vacation. Many times our difficulties seem even worse during the summer because everyone else seems to be enjoying life while you are feeling down. If you are experiencing a difficult time--emotionally, spiritually, or relationally--you don't have to suffer alone.

Our Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers, ready to listen, care for and encourage you, pray with and for you, and provide one-to-one Christian care to help you through whatever it is that you are facing. Men are matched with male Stephen Ministers and women are matched with female Stephen Ministers. It's free. It's confidential. And it will make a difference in your life!

If you or someone you know is hurting, find out more about Stephen Ministry by talking with one of our Stephen Leaders: Tom McKinnon, Linda Bayer, Mary Lou Kocher, and Melody Nissley.

Our Stephen Ministers are there to care!

Stephen Ministry is an active Distinctively Christian Care ministry reaching out to churches and the community.  Upon the completion of 50 hours in training, and commissioning, Stephen Ministers are prepared to minister to hurting people dealing with difficult issues such as: long-term health care, death, divorce, new birth, moving to a different home, hospitalization, aging parents, to name a few.

Commissioned  Stephen Ministers are then designated as 'Care Givers', and assigned to a same gender 'Care Receivers', having completed a brief referral process. This begins the one-on-one caring relationship.

"Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ." - Galatians 6:2.

If you are interested in talking to someone about the need for a Stephen Minister or would like to know more about Stephen Ministry, please contact Referral Coordinator, Pastor Thomas McKinnon Jr. at 653-1943.
